Management Committee

Welcome to the Management Committee Page

Unlike a mainstream school, Pupil Referral Units do not have a ‘Governing Body’ as such. As well as authority officers, committee membership might include headteachers from maintained schools, special educational needs coordinators, local governors, elected members, Connexions personal advisers, and parents, among others.

DoE guidance states that all Pupil Referral Units should have a Management Committee, whose purpose is to monitor procedure and standards within the service. The Harrogate PRU is represented by members from mainstream education, the local police, local training and post 16 providers, Connexions, the LA and members of the SLT at the PRU. In addition to supporting the Headteacher in the strategic development of the PRU, the Management Committee take an active interest in:

· Safeguarding

· Admissions and Attendance

· Behaviour and Discipline

· Curriculum

· Post-OFSTED Action Planning

Only members of the Management Committee are able to enter this part of the site to access the Centre’s current Development Plan, SEF and other related documentation. Minutes of meetings and agenda’s will also be posted here for members to access at their leisure.
